The current state of the reggae industry

Years of frustration and poor management of artist’s career has finally resulted in a verbal altercation amongst a few veterans superstar. Recently, social media engaged viewers to a barrage of insults between Footahype and “The Ghetto People Governor” Rodney Pryce a/K/a Bounty Killer.  Allegedly, Footahype became infuriated with the 6th Star general’s derogatory comments on his child.  This all comes down to RESPECT and PROFESSIONALISM amongst the artistes and music fraternity.  When dancehall was at its pinnacle in the 80’s and 90’s with the original general Briggy, Charlie Chaplin, Josey Wales, Sasafrass and Yellowman the undisputed “King of the dancehall” raves was enjoyable; real time metaphors were the killer of artist.

The incident that transpired with Footahype and Bounty was totally maligned and is not a good example for the new upcoming artists. Another stigma in the entertainment world was the dispute with Beenie man and Spice, this beef was joined by non other than Vybz Kartel. After all, Kartel and spice recorded one of the biggest themed songs at parties titled “Ramping Shop”
